Schaefer’s is a fast growing manufacturer of a wide range of custom carbon and stainless steel enclosures for electrical equipment.
Since 1999, the company has experienced dramatic growth in both volume and its workforce. In response to its dramatic growth and the highly competitive nature of its market, the company realized a need to evaluate and upgrade its important document control and customer information order systems and to become ISO 9001:2000 compliant.
In addition, company management also wanted to extend its efforts
to incorporate industry “best practices” and state-of-the-art technology to maximize the efficiency of its workforce and to increase productivity.
Missouri Enterprise provided a multiphase project including 5S training and implementation support and development of a series of 15 visual work instructions as well as efforts to bring the company’s processes and documentation into ISO compliance.
This project enabled the company to increase sales by more than $950,000 while realizing cost savings on labor and material in excess of $250,000 and helping build a foundation for future expansion.
“The Missouri Enterprise team is very professional and knowledgeable. Working with them is very easy as they understand the demands of operating a manufacturing facility,” said Company President Mark Diamond.
