Sustainability

As green manufacturing has become more efficient and economical, industrial manufacturers are considering innovative production techniques that will benefit both the environment and their consumers.  “Going Green” is no longer just the right thing to do, its smart business.

For example, with a simple energy audit, some companies have experienced a one month ROI and thousands of dollars of savings per month on energy bills.  Yes, reducing your carbon footprint can put more profits on your financial scorecard.

Missouri Enterprise has extensive partnerships throughout the state and country to provide resources that can help evaluate your business and get you on an environmentally sound path.  Small changes add up to a big difference.

Missouri Enterprise partners with industry and academic experst to provide comprehensive energy audits to eligible small and medium size manufacturers.

The audits, conducted by teams of university engineering students and faculty and Missouri Enterprise experts will evaluate a company’s energy performance through scientifically based diagnostic procedures.

The teams will identity areas where costs saving can be realized and provide specific recommendation for doing so. Areas where audits show that energy savings can often be realized include lighting, operation of industrial and business equipment, heating and cooling as well as use of alternative sources of energy.

The Missouri Enterprise team can provide ASHRAE level I, II, and III audits that typically identify thousands of dollars worth of oppotunities for improvement...dollars in savings that can go directly to a company's bottom line.

Environmental Improvement and Energy Resource Authority
Missouri Market Development Program

The Missouri Environmental Improvement and Energy Resources Authority’s (EIERA) Missouri Market Development Program was established by the State Legislature in 1990. Since then, it has achieved significant results in helping companies increase the use of waste materials in their products and in supporting local economic growth and job creation.

For example, last year Missouri Enterprise helped 16 companies achieve annual added revenue and annual cost savings of more than $1.7 million each, annual saving of more than 13,000 tons of waste and 42 jobs created/retained. That’s an average of more than $100,000 each in additional revenue and cost savings per project.

To achieve these results, the companies participating in the Market Development Program often utilize strategic partners like Missouri Enterprise to provide customized financial, technical and information assistance including

  • Product Feasibility Studies
  • Product Development
  • Market and Business Planning
  • Market Research
  • Plant Layout/Equipment Selection
