Course Description

Training Within Industry was created during WWII to help boost American industrial production. It was very successful and since then companies here and abroad have made it an important part of sustaining the productivity gains made through Lean Enterprise principles and Six Sigma methodologies. Most notably, TWI plays a major role in the Toyota Production System.

In this seminar, participants will be introduced to the three standardized TWI modules that cover the skills that all supervisors and team leaders need, regardless of their industries.

These skills are in instructionimproving methods; and leading. Participants will also see the how the TWI four-step process (preparation, presentation, application and testing) works in the Job Instruction; Job Methods; and Job Relations modues.

Job Instruction teaches supervisors to quickly train employees to do the job correctly, safely and consistently.

Job Methods teaches supervisors to improve the way jobs are done and help produce greater quantities in less time by the best use of the people, materials and machines available.

Job Relations teaches supervisors to build positive employee relationships, increase cooperation and motivation as well as effectively resolve conflicts.

This one-half day (8 am - 11:30 am) introductory workshop is ideal for company executives, managers, human resource professionals, supervisors, team leaders or anyone who is responsible for the work of others.
