Background and Education
Vinod George is a highly experienced member of the Missouri Enterprise Project Management team, having worked in Continuous Improvement and Quality Management since the mid 1990’s. His manufacturing career started at Emerson Electric’s Scroll Compressors, where he was a part of the Continuous Improvement Team. There he gained hands-on experience leading and implementing a wide variety of initiatives including: capacity expansion, Lean Manufacturing, Demand Flow Technology, Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Statistical Process Control (SPC), Overall Equipment Effectiveness, warehouse operations setup, manufacturing simulation models, time studies, capacity planning, plant layouts, line balancing and more. He also managed the plant cost reduction program.
In 2008 Vinod joined Meramec Electrical Products (now Meramec Instrument Transformer) as the Quality Manager. He was instrumental in the company attaining ISO 9001 registration and led continuous improvement efforts to reduce internal defect rates and improve customer satisfaction scores. Vinod also worked on the transformation team that took the company from a paper-based system to a paper-less Manufacturing Execution Program that helped the company significantly reduce production errors and improve operations metrics. He was promoted to Director of Manufacturing where he improved the plant’s year over year performance in safety, labor effectiveness, first pass yield and productivity savings while maintaining an impressive 99% on-time shipment rate to customers. With his strong background in data analysis and visualization, Vinod developed and utilized dashboards for tracking and managing plant performance metrics. He promoted a continuous improvement culture by sponsoring, leading and participating in Lean events and Gemba walks.
Vinod graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Production Engineering from PSG College of Technology in India, and went on to earn his master’s degree in manufacturing engineering technology from Arizona State University. He completed the Juran Quality Improvement series training program, holds a Six Sigma Greenbelt and is currently pursuing a Data Analytics certification.
