TWI Job Safety:  Break the Accident Chain of Causes Leading to Injury.

Manufacturers know how important Safety is in their workplace, and the importance of having a culture that prevents accidents from happening instead of just reacting when accidents occur.  The objective of the TWI Job Safety (JS) methodology is to break the accident chain by focusing on the causes leading to injury, and instilling preventive actions to avoid injuries.  JS is designed to help supervisors be better aware of safety issues and recognize potential problems before they become real problems.  It’s more than just enforcing existing workplace safety rules, it’s about making safety a part of the culture and ensuring each team member understands their responsibilities when it comes to safety.

Train Supervisors to Ensure Safety is Inherent in Your Company Culture.

Safety isn’t just a “program” or a “set of rules” to live by.  To be truly effective at actively preventing workplace injury, Safety should be an inherent part of your manufacturing company culture.  Supervisors at all levels, perhaps most importantly on the shop floor, play an important role in ensuring that Safety permeates your workplace practices.  TWI Job Safety Training focuses on the central model of the accident chain, and uses examples and demonstrations provided by course participants to illustrate and “map out” the problems.  The TWI “4-Step” method is then used to analyze those real-world problems and create solutions to be proactive about preventing such situations in the future.

You Can Always Find the Time for Safety Training.

The TWI Job Safety Training program is designed for supervisors and team leaders.  It consists of 5 two-hour sessions that run for 5 consecutive days, typically with up to 8-10 participants.  Missouri Enterprise Project Managers can conduct JS training right in your own facility, making it easier for you to find the time to fit it in with your production schedule.  The first two sessions focus on learning methods to help identify safety issues and prevent accidents.  The following sessions focus on providing practical, real-world applications and examples at your workplace, inviting interactive participation of your team members to use the tools of TWI to “learn by doing” while they address critical Safety practices in their own workplace.  The on-site training means participants can immediately start applying what they learn in the workplace.

The Workplace Safety Project Managers at Missouri Enterprise have the experience and expertise you need to provide TWI Job Safety Training at your manufacturing facility.  Contact your local Area Business Manager to learn how we can help.
